Hey Robin & Stone fans! Here’s something I never thought would happen, but it’s pretty much going to play out like I always wanted. GH is announcing that Michael Sutton is returning to GH for a 2-episode run this fall and it’s for a Robin story! Here are the details:

Here’s an unexpected blast from the past! Michael Sutton, whose General Hospital character, Stone Cates, died of AIDS in a landmark 1995 storyline, will return to the ABC soap on September 28 for a two-episode appearance. Stone won’t be coming back as a ghost or spirit. Rather, he’ll appear to his one-time girlfriend Robin (Kimberly McCullough) when she finds herself in a physically perilous situation and becomes delirious. (ABC has asked us not to reveal the exact circumstances).

The visitation occurs at an emotionally vulnerable time for Robin — she and hubby Patrick (Jason Thompson) have split up due to his liaison with Lisa (Brianna Brown). A GH rep tells TV Guide Magazine that “Stone will give Robin the will to live, not only for herself but, more importantly, her daughter Emma.” The rep adds that the duo will also talk about their past together, and bring closure to what happened to them years ago. (As a result of her sexual relationship with Stone, Robin is HIV-positive). Sutton, who was Emmy-nominated for his final year on GH, hasn’t done much acting since his exit from the soap. These days, he’s a highly successful L.A. nightclub promoter and restaurateur.

Kimberly will be attending the Emmys this year! Way exciting! Can’t wait to see photos. And of course we’ll have them loaded to the Gallery as soon as we can! We really missed seeing her there last year when GH wasn’t nominated. We think Kimberly should have been nominated for her work last year in the PPD storyline and apparently, Vanessa Marcil thinks so too! Check out her interview with Zap2it where she states that Kimberly, Steve, Maurice, Jonathan and Sarah should be nominated every year. We may be biased here at the KMC, but we quite agree with a nod a year for Kimberly! Kimberly’s “Nice Guys Finish Last” short is still in pre-production but will begin shooting next month. Kimberly has announced that her pal Danielle Harris (“Wish Upon a Star”, “Halloween”) and GH co-star Lexi Ainsworth (Kristina Corinthos) will be starring in the short. Also, we linked the trailer for the short Kimberly choreographed for “Vampire Dance” staring Shaun Benson (ex-Steven, GH) under her current projects. Also keep an eye out on Hulu because Kimberly’s episode of Jaleel White’s series “Fake It Til You Make It” will be up on Tuesday, June 29th. So Kimberly’s got a lot going on even though we’ve been missing her desperately on GH. She’ll be back on the show on Tuesday, July 6th. So remember to stop by the forum so you can discuss Robin’s long awaited return from Africa. Also, we’ve debuted a brand new layout for the Gallery, so check that out as well. Dee has outdone herself yet again! And we updated the gallery a bit to make it more user friendly. Hopefully you’ll enjoy it! And also, keep visiting Kimberly McCullough Media to view videos spanning Kimberly’s lengthy career. I added all the Robin & Stone clips I have and now we’re somewhere in fall 1996 with Jason & Robin. It’s a process but hopefully we’ll get everything up to now sometime shortly.

So get your fan letters in now and let the folks over at Prospect Studios know we want to see Robin & Brenda on General Hospital! All the important media contacts are here. Can’t wait to see Brenda meet Emma! This summer we’ll have the first scenes between Robin & Brenda in 12 years!

Kimberly is accepting donations towards the production of her new short “Nice Guys Finish Last,” the film that she wrote and will be directing for the AFI Directing Workshop for Women 2010. The film will be shot this summer in Los Angeles and Kimberly needs help to achieve her fundraising goal of $25,000 by July 1, 2010. If you are interested in donating, you can click here for more information. To show her gratitude for any donations $25 or more, Kimberly will mail you an autographed photo. Any donations over $100 will also receive a “Special Thanks” credit in the film’s end credits. The film currently has $200 raised for it, so there is a long, long way to go.

Also, AFI has posted a bio of Kimberly on their site. It has some interesting highlights that I wasn’t aware of, like Kimberly shadowed directors Ed Zwick and Clark Johnson on the films “Swat” and “The Sentinel.” Good stuff. We’ll be incorporating that stuff into our bio section soon.

Kimberly is not leaving General Hospital. I repeat. Kimberly is NOT leaving General Hospital. Apparently, the internet was abuzz today with rumors that Kimberly McCullough would be leaving GH because she tweeted that she has been accepted into the AFI Directing Workshop for Women 2010. This is a three week workshop in May, which while it does have a lot of pre-production and post-production involved with the projects participants will be working on, Kimberly confirmed she will still be able to do General Hospital and the workshop at the same time. The workshop only has 8 participants each cycle and Kimberly was chosen to be one of them! The Kimberly McCullough Connection would like to congratulate Kimberly on this prestigious honor and we look forward to seeing future projects from her.

It sounds short-term, but it looks like our Robin is getting herself a storyline! Here are some details provided by Soap Opera Source.

General Hospital has cast four time Emmy winner Michael Learned in a short term role as a cancer patient who will interact with some of the staff at the hospital. According to the report from Soap Opera Digest, Learned will share scenes with Robin (Kimberly McCullough), Patrick (Jason Thompson) and Lisa (Brianna Brown), in addition to some of the other hospital staff.

Probably best known for her role on The Waltons as Mrs. Olivia Walton from 1972-79, she also appeared on ABC’s All My Children and One Life to Live in 2005 as the Honorable Judge Turner. Some of her other television credits include, St. Elsewhere (1984), Hothouse (1988), Murder, She Wrote (1989), Who’s The Boss (1989), Profiler (1998), and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (2003). More recently she appeared on the hit NBC series, Scrubs (2006-09) as Ms. Wilk.

Learned has also been nominated for four Golden Globes (Best TV Actress – Drama in 1973, 1974, 1975, 1976) for her portrayal of Mrs. Olivia Walton. In addition, she also garnered multiple Emmy nominations (1973-78; 1981-1982), winning in 1973 for Outstanding Continued Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role (Drama Series – Continuing) for her role on The Waltons. In 1974 and 1976 she received wins for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series, also for The Waltons series. In 1982, she received an Emmy win (Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series) for her portrayal on the television series, Nurse.

Learned’s stay at GH will be short term and she will begin taping in mid-March and air in early April.
